As a Fashion School summer program chaperone and student leader I loved working with the prospective high school students and teaching them my knowledge of the school and the work I have done for class and different techniques used in fashion design for sewing and drawing

What I wish was different

I wish it was a bit more direct and organized of my specific position

Advice

I had a great time working this job but I would recommend being prepared with solutions to conflicts between students and indecisive groups when deciding where to take the groups for lunch if you’re given that task

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience

What I liked

This experience allowed me to work one on one with a KSU mentor. I learned a lot of valuable information and skills from this opportunity.

What I wish was different

At the end of the internship, there was a presentation that all students that participated had to present. I wish what kind of information was expected in the presentation was more clear.

Psychologist Research Assistant

What I liked

Recruiting on site (Akron Children's Hospital) for 20 hours/ week gave me invaluable research experience. I was able to work directly with two Co-PIs, medical staff, and study participants. My favorite part was being able to work in the fast-paced environment of the Emergency Department.

Get experience in your field any way you can! You have to start somewhere, and almost every position can teach you something important in preparation for your career someday!
