Keurig Dr Pepper

Project Managment and Engineering Co-Op

August 2023 • Sumner, WA

What I liked

This was an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive team. The day-to-day learning was challenging and rewarding. I loved the chance to own a project with real responsibility and make a real impact.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been some overlap between Co-Op cohorts. An intern before me had given me great advice and one-on-one time, and I wanted the opportunity to pay that forward.

Advice

As an intern, you have every right to ask too many questions, so ask them! As long as you are genuine and respectful, the team will support you with advice and guidance.

Operations & Quality Co-op

What I liked

This co-op helped me build upon my professional and technical skills. The KDP team is very inclusive and transparent which enables a team-based & communication-focused work environment. They also have strong support system to guide co-ops & interns through their individual journeys.

What I wish was different

Initially I would have suggested their student outreach programs, but seeing the new initiatives taken by the talent acquisition team I am amazed to see their progress.

Advice

I would say don't be shy to ask questions, KDP leadership is very supportive & open in sharing their experiences. There is a lot to learn from them.

Sales Analyst

June - August 2023 • Frisco, TX

What I liked

The internship program at Keurig Dr Pepper is meticulously designed, ensuring that interns are continually engaged and provided with meaningful tasks. I was entrusted with a significant project, one that held multi-million dollar implications for the business. This gave me a sense of responsibility and drove me to strive for excellence, diverging from the stereotypical intern roles of running errands or mundane tasks. The environment at Keurig Dr Pepper further enhanced my experience. The openness, willingness to guide, and the inherent collaborative spirit among employees were remarkable. This provided numerous networking opportunities and a deeper insight into the broader organizational structure. Additionally, the role fostered my ability to derive compelling business narratives from raw data, refining my analytical skills and empowering me to use visualizations for informed decision-making.

What I wish was different

While the depth and scope of my project were immensely rewarding, I yearned for a broader exposure to the organization's myriad teams. Having occasional "shadow days" could be beneficial. These days would allow interns to partner with different departments, understand their daily operations, and see how they interplay with the functions of the team they are a part of. Such a holistic approach would offer a more well-rounded experience.

Advice

For any prospective intern, my advice is straightforward yet crucial: Embrace the learning curve and never hesitate to ask questions. Keurig Dr Pepper provides a supportive environment where inquisitiveness is valued over pre-existing knowledge. While diligence, receptiveness to feedback, and teamwork are foundational expectations, it's equally essential to remember that no question is trivial. This is a place of growth, so seize every opportunity to enhance your understanding.

Manufacturing Intern

May - August 2023 • Northlake, IL

What I liked

Everybody I worked with was very welcoming and I got to spend a lot of time on the production floor which was a great experience.

What I wish was different

The leadership team I worked under was extremely busy, so it was hard to work independently as often as I had to when they were not available.

Advice

Ask as many questions as you possibly can! If you feel like you don't know what you're doing then let your team know so they can guide you in the right direction.

IT Data & Analytics Intern

June - August 2023 • Frisco, TX

What I liked

I loved the opportunity to better understand the beverage industry and KDP's niche within it. As someone who was interested in both business and tech, I enjoyed meeting upper management in the IT and Commercial/Sales spaces. Everyone here is invested in you as an early career professional and are all so approachable. I was able to see two projects from start to finish.

What I wish was different

I wish we were allowed to work overtime.

Advice

Try talking to as many professionals at the company as possible! All the leaders at KDP are smart and passionate about what they do, and willing to take the time to talk with you.

Supply Chain Intern

January - June 2023 • Frisco, TX

What I liked

I liked the amount of resources KDP made available to us. I was assigned two mentors, one within the Supply Chain department and one within Sales. Meeting with them bi-weekly allowed me to gain a better understanding of the inner-workings of KDP as well as work on my personal and professional development. Beyond my two mentors, everyone at the office was always eager to provide support in any way I needed.

What I wish was different

If I were to have anything different it would be traveling. Some of the other co-ops had the opportunity due to the relevance of their projects.

Advice

Do not be afraid to reach out to anyone no matter their position level.
