Kid Power Inc.

Assistant

October - December 2017 • Washington, DC

What I liked

It is fun to get out and work with children, something I do not get to do often.

What I wish was different

I wish the metro were a bit closer to both my dorm and my work, that would cut down on travel time a lot.

Advice

Be patient with the kids, as they get to know you, you can start to have personal relationships with them and understand where each one is coming from. It seems like a lot at first but you get used to it.

What I liked

I love working with the kids. Each day brings a new but fun challenge.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a little more communication and info when first starting out. I was lucky and had a girl I knew working at my school to help me with things.

Advice

If you want an easy office job this is not for you. If you’ve never worked with kids before or know you’re low on patience this job isn’t for you either. This job is wild and crazy just like the kids but in the best way possible. It’s a wonderful escape from school work and college life.
