I loved how helpful and kind the volunteer coordinator was to me. Everyone who helped me get started with volunteering has been nothing but helpful and encouraging. This is an amazing opportunity to work on communication skills and gain some clinic experience.

The experience was nice and not having a set volunteer schedule made it easy to work with
What I wish was different
The volunteering process and upkeep of being able to volunteer was absolutely ridiculous. I’ve worked in many healthcare facilities and I didn’t have to jump through so many hoops to be an actual employee. I eventually stopped due to the volunteer coordinator hounding me about meeting up with her for coffee and to take on more clients. Since I was also in school and working full time over the summer it was incredibly difficult to deal with her.
Advice
There are many other volunteer opportunities out there for college students that are less high maintenance and I honestly suggest working for them instead
