About Knowles

At Knowles Corporation, we strive to continuously reinvent our industry and make products more powerful than before. Our products and solutions help our customers find more ways to put better technology to work for their customers. We are a market leader and global supplier of advanced micro-acoustic, specialty components, and human interface solutions in the mobile communications, consumer electronics, medical technology, military/space and other industrial end markets. Our deep experience and rigorous testing delivers consistently dependable and precise products including hearing aid components, MEMs (micro-electro-mechanical systems) microphones, speakers, receivers, transducers, capacitors, oscillators and more.
We have always, and continue to, make waves in the industry by introducing disruptive communication technologies such as the world’s first miniature microphone and receiver for hearing aids in 1954, the first surface mount MEMs (micro-electrical-mechanical systems) microphone in 2001, and the introduction of the most powerful bass for customer electronics in 2011 known as N'Bass. Partnering with our customers enables us to share in their pursuit to create the technology of tomorrow’s most innovative products.
Headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, our global scale of more than 13,000 employees in 37 locations worldwide includes design centers in Europe, Asia and North America. Coupled with our significant investment in research and development, our scale enables us to remain agile and efficient and deliver groundbreaking technology to our customers with high-volume economies.
Throughout our history, we have transformed the way people communicate and enjoy sound. Our components, which are used in more than 70 percent of hearing health products in the market, have enabled each technology leap in hearing health innovation over the past 50 years. Our products are also widely used in the professional music industry – we created the first personal monitors for musicians – replacing floor monitors and improving sound quality for large-scale performances. Our devices, designed for mission critical applications, can also be found in military equipment and various outer space utilities including NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover.
At Knowles, we see possibility in unexpected places and are unified by a spirit of innovation to constantly push boundaries, drive the industry forward and enable people to experience “life above the noise.”

“Even with Covid I was able to go into the plant everyday. I was also able to go speak with people of all levels including engineers, managers and operators on the production floor. It's a relatively small manufacturing company so I saw all the same people and workers everyday which made it easy to build relationships with people within the company. They also had daily 15 minute meetings to give project and process updates from the day before. This showed me that they truly cared about continuous improvement which is important in manufacturing fields.”
