I learned so much and was able to work with high school students all summer, making a difference in the Navajo Nation, helping the people and communities that were in great poverty.

Advice
Take any opportunities to learn new things about new cultures that you can. The Navajo is such a unique place that I absolutely loved getting to know.

What I liked
I loved discipling high school and middle school students and being a mentor that could challenge them in their skills as a leader, and in their relationship with Christ. Leading mission trips all summer was not easy, but I loved the difficulty. The struggles to always be intentional with students actually caused me to rely more on God and less on my own abilities.
What I wish was different
Nothing! It was the best summer of my life.
Advice
I would recommend this to any Christian willing to grow as a leader and as a follower of Christ. The biggest thing I learned this summer was about pride and how pride is the root of ALL sin, and that I have WAY more pride than I ever realized I did.
