Lippert Components

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2022 • South Bend, IN

What I liked

I enjoyed the supportive environment, and everyone I worked with was all about helping you succeed! There was no agenda there except to listen to your co-workers and strive for the best, most productive environment possible. I also really enjoyed the events Lippert shared with us and hosted just for their interns. They taught us all about the company, and we even got to meet Jason Lippert, CEO of Lippert Components.

What I wish was different

It was a really good internship, can't think of anything else honestly that I would have wanted to be different. If anything, it would have been nice to have more feedback.

Advice

I worked for Furrion in specific, which is now owned by Lippert. If I have any advice... you've probably heard this before, but ask questions whenever you want to. Sure, you can Google it, and sometimes that is OK, but oftentimes questions are a great way to build a relationship, update coworkers on your project, and learn more about everything. Next: don't assume your coworkers know everything, either. It is okay to experiment within reason and test things. Also, as an intern, you have a unique perspective on the company. Likely, you will have something valuable to say, so don't be afraid to speak up on how a process could be improved if the opportunity comes your way.
