Live Nation Entertainment

HR Data Analytics Intern

June - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I loved the in depth amount of professional development resources offered throughout my summer internship.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to work on at least one project outside of my assigned department.

Advice

Ask plenty of questions! I gained so much knowledge from my internship experience at Live Nation Entertainment because I asked insightful questions. My internship coordinator, and other professionals were inclusive and supportive of me throughout the duration of the internship.

Booking Intern

May - August 2023 • Nashville, TN

What I liked

The staff was incredible, and everyone in the office was very encouraging. It was easy to approach and ask questions. I had lots of work to do that felt very important- no busy work.

What I wish was different

I wish they offered me a full-time job haha. I understand there were no open opportunities, and I know I can't control that.

Advice

Definitely take advantage of the people that are in the office with you. Go up to them ask them for coffee, learn from them!

VIP guest services

August 2021 • Raleigh, NC

What I liked

It was a good work environment, management was always reachable and helpful. Plenty of hours to work and multiple different types of jobs to work, made for a fun and interesting summer.

What I wish was different

Since work through dinner time providing dinner options or even a free meal while on break would be nice, sometimes we would get food but not always. Wasn't always communicated when we would get food so not always sure when to bring in stuff from home. Other then that work was great!

Advice

Make sure you're willing to work the odd-hour schedule that typically starts at 4-5 in the afternoon to about midnight.

Brand Ambassador

August - September 2021 • Chula Vista, CA

What I liked

I liked the being able to use interpersonal skills with over 15,000 people per concert. Having the opportunity to ask questions and make sure every audience member enjoyed their experience! I also really appreciated how the Managers would take safety measures with COVID-19 in mind. Every worker had to get tested for covid or do a health screening so that we were not exposed.

What I wish was different

Advice

If you apply here, be ready to have different interactions with audience members and remember that it is for their experience!

Guest Ambassador

May 2018 • Mansfield, MA

What I liked

The interaction with guests and different crowds. I basically acted as an extension of guest services. I also was able to watch many live concerts this summer. I loved that every day was a different experience, and I was constantly busy.

What I wish was different

Maybe the hours! Often times I would not get out of work until midnight, and could work long days.

Advice

Probably not to stress about having an internship. Summer jobs can be great experiences as well, and still provide a lot of learning opportunities and be fun!

Video Network College Associate

May - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

It was an incredible and invaluable learning experience. It was a hands-on job with a lot of personal responsibilities and tasks. I was given my own personal projects and was treated as an equal amongst my team. They offered informational sessions with the heads of each department throughout Live Nation - there they described their personal journey that led them to where they are, what they currently do, how they impact Live Nation, and answered questions. They offered tickets to events in the area that were sponsored by Live Nation or provided by TicketMaster (owned by LN). We were given the opportunity to work an amphitheater show at Jones Beach. The College Associates worked in groups for an ongoing project - a 360 marketing plan for the company and a prospective partner - throughout the summer that we presented to the President of Live Nation and other members from the company. I learned a great deal about my department as well as the company as a whole and live entertainment.

What I wish was different

Nothing. This was a great experience.

Advice

Do not hesitate to ask questions. Everyone in this industry wants to help students learn and grow. Ask inquisitive questions and know who you are speaking to. If you have a question for someone specific, go out of your way to contact them and set up a meeting. However, do no waste their time - do your research and plan.

Marketing Intern

January - August 2019 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

I enjoyed being able to work in the music industry knowing that I found the position myself and worked very hard to get it.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been exposed to more software, new ways of marketing to larger artists, and given more responsibility in my 8 months.

Advice

Take an unpaid internship if you truly think it will benefit you! Do what you have to do! I worked 3 jobs at the same time, one being unpaid. It is doable.

Parking Attendant

May - August 2019 • Charlotte, NC

What I liked

It was a good job with frequent hours, however, it was not a job that I should have taken. I prefer jobs that give me the opportunity to work with people directly, and you could not with this job.

What I wish was different

I wish communication from co-workers to each other, and to supervisors, and vice versa, and been more effective. This was my first season, and I kept getting different messages.

Advice

Bring your own water and take it slow.

What I wish was different

I wish we would've focused more on social media advertising rather than print advertisement.

The atmosphere of LiveNation is incredible. Everyone is motivated, respectful, and enjoys their work. It was a really inspiring team to be a part of.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have had more time there! Just one semester flew by and I felt there was still so much to learn.

Media and Sponsorship Intern

June - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

My bosses were all very welcoming and willing to make every opportunity a learning experience. I also got to go to several concerts and work behind the scenes.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have gotten paid! I had to commute an hour+ from my home to Hollywood every day, which meant I ended up spending money on gas instead of making any. But it’s still worth it.

Advice

Take advantage of any opportunity to network and try new things. You get a few chances to work with other departments in the company and to work outside of the office which I definitely recommend doing.

Guest Ambassador

July - August 2019 • Charlotte, NC

What I liked

The various personalities I was able to interact with found both in my fellow Guest Ambassadors, the other Live Nation staff members, and the audience. This meant that I was constantly meeting new people, figuring out what they were like, and potentially helping them with an issue. Additionally, the issues I had to help with were quite varied, meaning I never got bored doing the same thing at every concert.

What I wish was different

Honestly, it was an enjoyable experience overall, and my supervisors prepared me as best they could for any uncomfortable situations, such as drunk guest.

Advice

Always be respectful to guests. If a guest is causing a problem, it is usually not because they came to the concert to specifically do so. Everybody just wants to have a good time and, if somebody reacts negatively to you asking them to throw away their alcohol at the gate or return their golf umbrella to their car, just phrase it as something Live Nation is doing to make sure everybody can have a better time. Also, if they don't do said things, they'll just get told the same thing by security at the gates, so there isn't much of a reason to get worked up about it so much.
