Logan Consulting

Marketing Intern

January 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I really enjoyed working at Logan. I was able to get hands-on experience with various aspects of a marketing role and work closely with Logan's team (this is an advantage of working at smaller companies - much more practical experience and the opportunity to have important responsibilities and work directly with senior employees). I met semi-weekly with the mentor of each project I was working on at a given time and was always given great constructive feedback. I felt supported and respected by everyone I had the opportunity to meet and work with. I also really appreciated the flexibility they provided to accommodate my class schedule; Logan emphasizes that school always comes first for their interns.

Advice

Don't be afraid to speak up and offer suggestions or ask questions a project. Logan values intern voices - I was always asked what it was I wanted to be working on, how my workload was, etc. This is a great internship largely because you have the opportunity to choose your path and what you want to learn about. They really care about you and want to make sure that you are learning and getting a good experience out of your work there.

Marketing Intern

September 2020 - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Everyone I talked to at the firm was happy to have me learn what I needed in order to do my job, and they were also very encouraging, providing both positive feedback and suggestions for improvement when appropriate. I also liked the flexibility with this internship. I could choose when to work in the office and when to work online, which was very helpful for reducing commuting times. I could also largely choose what hours I wanted to work, which was great for setting my own schedule, and it is very convenient if you are a student.

Advice

If you don't have a background with internships like this, do not worry; you are there to learn. There are plenty of company resources you can use to help learn the ins and outs of the internship. Logan Consulting has a philosophy of never starting from scratch - this means that you will always have some sort of procedure or template which can help you. My manager and others were always happy to help explain new things to me as well.

Human Resources Intern

April - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I had a great experience at Logan Consulting! I worked remotely part-time during the school year and half remote/half in-person full time over the summer, which was super nice due to its flexibility. I worked primarily with the CEO, Guy Logan, on improving HR operations and creating a database of HR processes and procedures. Everyone at the company was very kind, professional, and accommodating, and overall it was a very rewarding experience!

Advice

Take the opportunity to get to know the other interns and employees when you have the chance! Most of the company's day to day operations are remote, but getting to work and chat with people in the office and at the company events was super fun.

What I liked

The internship with Logan Consulting truly has been a great experience. The people at the firm truly make it special. They care about your opinion and are always willing to listen to whatever insight that you can provide, and are always willing to answer questions. They understand that as students we have many priorities, and as such, have been flexible and understanding. As an intern, you’re exposed to many different aspects of the business, including senior-level employees, who frequently stress the importance of each role everyone has, even the interns. Interns truly are valued at the firm, and they give you the freedom to use your skills and aptitude to problem solve You may have one title in the company but they will expose you to other aspects, as they care about developing your progression and skillset. They value the work interns do, and as a result, they want you to also have a great internship experience. This internship experience has truly helped me develop skills that I wouldn’t expect and I only have great things to say.

Accounting Intern

January 2018 - June 2019 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Interning at Logan was the best internship experience I could have received. I was responsible for and/or a part of all the accounting aspects of the company. It was great hands on experience of seeing an AR process, AP process, period end process, and reporting process while relating it back to my classes at DePaul. Interns get many important responsibilities and access to higher management that you don't see at many other companies. I had plenty of independence to manage my time and work accordingly without a lot of micromanaging and while still having people to help me if needed. It was the perfect balance of challenge and support that really allowed me to elevate my professional experience. Logan was also always flexible with my class schedule and the office is conveniently located close to DePaul so it was easy to go between work and class. The office environment is friendly and collaborative. Everybody always makes you feel welcomed.

Accounting Intern

December 2016 - June 2018 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I honestly only have positive things to say about my internship experience with Logan. As my first internship, I was able to learn under the previous intern to understand the business, and eventually train the next accounting intern with the skills I had learned. I also got the unique opportunity to work closely with the President of the company, which was not only interesting, but also invaluable experience that is tough to find anywhere else. The internship also provided much more responsibility than I had expected and exceeded that of many of my peers at the time. Logan fosters an environment where you are trusted to figure things out for yourself without any sort of micromanagement. If you needed help, it was absolutely available, but likely the most valuable skill I gained was the ability to problem solve without asking for assistance right away. All in all, I cannot recommend the Logan internship experience enough, as you will also be able to work with bright, engaging, and genuinely fun group of people.

Intern

August 2020 - September 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I really enjoyed the fact that I had a mentor I met with multiple times a week to discuss my progress, ongoing projects, and any concerns if I had any. Additionally, I really loved the opportunities I had to be creative and come up with my own solutions, work with other Logan employees, and pursue areas that I was more interested in. This let me shape my internship experience in a more personalized way which I really appreciated. Lastly, everyone at Logan is extremely supportive and genuinely wants the best for their interns. Because of this, I never felt overwhelmed while managing school, tasks at work, and other personal responsibilities.

Consulting Intern

June 2020 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Logan values interns highly and treats them with the utmost respect. I was provided with a mentor, who was a senior Quality Assurance manager in the firm, and I met with him once per week to discuss my progress, ask questions, and get support. I had plenty of freedom and was thoroughly challenged. I had the opportunity to explore both marketing-related tasks and to directly support a project with a Fortune 500 client.
