I loved being able to build relationships with all the girls. It was really fun to plan activities and to get to know the students on a deeper level. Getting to worship so frequently and having the opportunity to teach a lesson was very beneficial for growing in my own faith as well as getting to walk with others in theirs.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been given more feedback regarding my job performance but there was a performance review on my last day where I was able to trade feedback with my supervisors.
Advice
It is exhausting at first trying to build so many relationships so quickly. It can feel like you're not getting anywhere but it gets easier and becomes so meaningful and fun once you settle in to your role and as the high schoolers get more comfortable.

I absolutely loved working with Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. Not only was the staff extremely accommodating, but the students welcomed me into their community like family. I loved working with a team as we came up with creative ways to reach the students where they were at spiritually.

What I liked
I love the structure of the job - you are able to schedule your own week around a few set events of the week. It prevents things from feeling routine and more organic. The staff you work with is also incredible. They're encouraging, reasonable, and easy to be around. They have your best interest in mind.

I wish somehow the job was longer or somehow worked into the year.
