Music Booking Intern

May - August 2019 • Boulder, CO

What I liked

I love this internship because it challenged me and I learned a lot. I learned what the overall process of booking an artist looks like from the outside, a few specifics within the process, as well as how to create a tour for them. Specifics of this I learned include: crucial tools in managing an artist, the complexity and scope of a pre-show contract, among many other things. Above all else, I learned what it’s like to work among some of the music industry’s brightest; learning alongside a cutting edge organization. What a wonderful culture, what a wonderful learning experience.

What I wish was different

I wish my boss had gotten to/ had had time to explaining how all the different departments within operate together in a booking agency. I also wish he had challenged me more and gave me more tasks when I got good at some. He was an amazing boss overall, and taught me crucial things. I just have a huge craving for learning, and if you do too use it.

Make sure to ask questions, and tons of them. A good amount of what I learned came from initiative. Also be grateful, this is a super wonderful company to work for!
