Madison Square Garden

Student Recruiter

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I really enjoyed how much responsibility MSG gave me. I was able to go through the full-cycle recruiting process on my own with my own job requisitions. I also greatly appreciated how kind and approachable all of the full-time employees were when I asked to meet or for career advice.

Social Impact and Fan Engagement Student Associate

June - August 2020 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Professional development workshops, networking opportunities, important and relevant tasks, and the opportunity to create a creative assignment project with other interns.

What I wish was different

I wish my experience could have been in-person rather than virtual, but that was obviously out of everyone’s control.

Advice

Take advantage of learning from people all over the company and make connections with peers in the program!

Sales Enablement

What I liked

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and professionals. I sometimes didn't know what to expect on a daily basis, but that was a blessing in disguise because it forced me to become much more adaptable than I was. The people at MSG were uber-welcoming and helped me whenever I had a question, request or idea. This wasn't a total surprise, but it made any nerves I had about my role disappear. I walked away from MSG with a greater sense of what it will take to make a career for myself in that specific industry. That was my end goal, and it was achieved.

What I wish was different

There were a couple times where my supervisors simply didn't have much work for me to do. This wasn't anyone's fault, but there were moments where I felt like I could've done more for the company even in such a small, temporary role.

Advice

Do not hesitate to ask questions and always be a sponge. Also, try to meet new people that are outside your department. It can only benefit you.
