Mansfield Energy

Supply Optimization Intern

June - August 2019 • Gainesville, GA

What I liked

I felt very valued by the people I worked with, and I made meaningful impacts to the business that they will use even after I have left the company. Additionally, Mansfield Energy paid very well, and I loved the relationship I was able to build with my boss and the SVP of the business unit.

What I wish was different

I wish I had started a little earlier in May, and that it had had some more finance application to it. I did get some good experience in Supply and Risk Management which was a huge plus.

Advice

Mansfield Oil does not hire too many interns, but the interns they do hire have very in-depth experience with full-time employees and they do a great job of facilitating time to ask questions and doing assigned tasks. With that said, I would go in with an open mind, ask as many questions as possible, and shadow other departments.

Credit Analyst Intern

May - September 2018 • Gainesville, GA

What I liked

Everyone in the department took the time to train and answer questions. They were more than willing to answer a question if it prevented a negative outcome later. Management was very helpful in explaining what was expected and why they wanted certain steps performed a particular way.

What I wish was different

It is an open office floor plan, so if quiet is what you need to concentrate, this may not be the best place for you.

Advice

Be prepared to learn and take on responsibility here. As you demonstrate competence and understanding, you will be given responsibilities that will aid in future business/accounting class studies.
