This was an opportunity like no other. I got to collaborate in a research project with fellow interns. While also being able to work on project assigned to me by the claims team.
What I wish was different
I wish the projects I did with my fellow interns was in person so we could connect more.
Advice
I advise everyone to not be afraid to ask question it is essential to ask questions to get things done correctly.

What I liked
Got to work on a real world POC with a team of other interns, lots of exposure to DevOps employees at Markel. Remote work was handled very well, and I learned a huge amount over the summer.
What I wish was different
Not much negative to speak of. Would have been nice to have been given a couple topics to research before the internship started, but other than that, experience was highly positive.

It’s a really good experience overall. I was on the Data Lake team but other IT Interns work with a variety of other teams. They will help place you with the right fit.
