Msb opperations intern

June - December 2019 • Pleasant Hill, CA

What I liked

I really liked that it was great general work experience and will look great on my resume. I also liked that it was a manager in training position so we were able to see how you run a hotel and all the work behind being a manager.

What I wish was different

I wish that I got paid more and that I didn't have such a crazy schedule. Some weeks I had to work 7 days in a row.

Advice

I would say that it is an internship not a dream job. Set intensions with everything you do and stay positive and know that it is all a great learning experience. Even if yo have hard days you have to remind yourself that it is a stepping stone to get where you one day want to be. Over all I enjoyed my internship with he Marriott they are a great company to work for.

Nearly everything. Free lunch (hot lunch & salad bar). Healthcare premiums free for employee & significantly discounted for dependents & spouse/domestic partner. Event Operations Intern

May - August 2019 • Nashville, TN

What I liked

I loved that I was able to learn so much about the overall operations that goes into each event held at my location. I also loved the people I worked with, they were so welcoming and fun to work with. I also really enjoyed the location that I was at, it was cool to go away from, out of my comfort zone and experience a new city and culture in the United States.

What I wish was different

When I arrived at the Gaylord Opryland, they were not prepared for us to be there and were not expecting us interns, so I wish they were more prepared for us. I also wish that the internship overall was a bit more organized because when I was there, sometimes it felt like they did not know what to do with us, this was not the norm for the industry for this to happen so do not let that scare you away.

Advice

One piece of advice I would recommend other students is do not be scared or afraird of getting out of your comfort zone and do something that you would want to do in a place you want to do it. I do not regret my decision to do that internship in Nashville, and it was such a great experience. So I would recommend to go and experience a new citywhile you are still have the time to do it and are still in school.

Food and Beverage Intern

May - August 2019 • Seattle, WA

What I liked

The first day was an orientation to the entire company and property which was very hands on and I learned a lot. I was then taken to my manager for the summer who explained to me what he was going to accomplish and he asked me what I wanted to accomplish. I really enjoyed the culture of the company, what I learned and how I was able to go between departments, and the people I worked with.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would advise other summer interns to really make sure that your manager knows what you want from the experience and if you are not getting something that you want to or you want to learn something specific, speak up about it.
