I enjoyed working with a great group of engineers in a small business environment. This allowed for me to have different tasks, from concept development to device testing. The job is well balanced between time spent working on a computer at a desk and doing hands on building and testing which makes for a much more enjoyable work day.
What I wish was different
I would have liked to have a few more projects to keep me busy throughout the summer, but that issue will be solved as we continue to grow and receive more clients.
Advice
It pays off to be a diligent worker. Certain companies will look for someone with a specific skill set, but a good company looks for someone who is disciplined and willing to do what it takes to get a job done. Skills will be gained along the way, but diligence and a hard working ethic is a must have from the start. Work to attain that characteristic and work to keep it wherever you are with whatever you are doing, and success will be right behind you.
