Marketing Intern

April - August 2018 • Scottsdale, AZ

What I liked

Gained tons of useful information that not only applied to Marketing but could be useful in any field/industry. This was a great way to get a feel for what corporate America is like, so I was thankful I was able to share this experience with such a great team at Meritage.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship had lasted longer than just a few months.

Advice

Listen to anything people are talking to you about/helping you with, no matter what their position. It is the perfect time to start learning what is needed to be successful in a career.

Land Acquisitions Intern

May 2018 • Orlando, FL

What I liked

Being able to apply the skills I learned from my real estate classes. Having the freedom to be self sufficient and deliver items at a comfortable pace. Being part of the team as opposed to "the intern".

What I wish was different

A little more time learning about other departments

Advice

Get to know everyone, being part of the culture is key; ask plenty of questions, they know you don’t know everything and expect to teach you; stay curious and humble, always search for answers you didn’t know you were looking for and don’t assume you know more than someone else.
