What I liked

I liked the fact that I received all my tasks directly from the shop floor. I would be told what the problem was with a drawing, or design and I would have to fix it or make new parts. I also loved the lunch and learns that we had. It was a great way to hear from executives of the company about their journeys to the positions they currently hold.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have gotten more exposure to the networking that happens inside the company. Midway through my internship, we were out on covid restrictions and I was not able to network like I intended to.

Advice

Play the role that you wish to get. If you want to be a design engineer, dress like one and act like one. Don't present yourself and your skills in a way that is beneath the standards of your future job, especially when your future employer is already interested in you.
