Midea

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2021 • Louisville, KY

What I liked

A large percentage of the people at this location are interns. During my rotation, there were 12 co-ops and only around 50 full time employees. Because of this, the co-ops have a huge role in the company. You are working on the same projects the full time engineers are working on. I also liked how collaborative everyone was. We were always working with engineers from other departments. Finally, I liked how much I was up and moving. I was always moving between lab work and working at my computer.

What I wish was different

Because of my specific department, the things I was working on were not always exciting for me. Other co-ops had more interesting work, but I still enjoyed what I did for the most part.

Advice

Take advantage of the knowledge of older engineers. Ask them about their career and for any advice they have.

AI Engineer

August - November 2018 • San Jose, CA

What I liked

I like my teammates, they are all responsibility for all works. And pretty easy to make relationship with them

What I wish was different

What I'm doing right now is collecting data for the team. what I expected is that I could do some assistant on development, but currently they still let me doing some basic stuff. However, my team lead will give me more work with technical skill.

Advice

I would like to share to others that they need to well prepare for interview. Most of companies still see people who apply jobs whether they have strong skills in their study field.
