Midland County houses the headquarters of the Dow Chemical Company, one of the world's top multinational chemical corporations. The Dow family still resides in the county, running several foundations there to support the arts: Dow Gardens, the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and Dow Diamond, home of the minor-league baseball team, the Great Lakes Loons.
