Don't be afraid to reach out to people. There many people willing to help, but they can't offer if you don't ask.

Accounting Intern

What I liked

I loved how close my team is and how helpful they were in showing me the ropes. I learned so much about Internal and External Reporting. It showed me how much i loved working in this type of accounting! I also loved that there were so many berry interns because it made me feel like at least i knew some people coming into the internship and i love how we would always eat lunch together and have a fun time on break!

What I wish was different

Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing on how my summer went! It was amazing and would recommend it to anyone!

Advice

I would say work hard, ask what else you can do after given an assignment, know that your supervisors may be busy and sometimes you don’t need to bother them in the moment, learn as much as you can, be nice and respectful and become friends with others in different departments down from you. If you make the most of the summer, you will be given plenty of awesome opportunities to meet different people and have unique opportunities and experiences!

Safety Intern

What I liked

The entire intern experience with Mohawk was fun an interactive. They gave me and other interns opportunities to grow as employees, tour and find out more about Mohawk, and have events for interns outside of just working.

What I wish was different

There were some communication problems where I was not informed on certain intern events. Just some small things like fixing that and the internship would be perfect.

Advice

One of the best parts of the intern experience was not just working, but growing in the position and making connections. Attending and having intern events were extremely important in making the experience as enjoyable as it was.

More time doing internship related tasks instead of unrelated manufacturing work. I enjoyed the project I was able to work on at my facility i just wish I had more time to work on it or had another project I could have worked on.
