Groundskeeper

June - August 2021 • Haslett, MI

What I liked

I enjoyed how quickly the interview and hiring process was. The job itself was nice because I was the only groundskeeper so I got to be fairly independent with my day-to-day work. I also aided the maintenance workers which gave me more experience.

What I wish was different

I wish that there had been 1 or more other groundskeepers hired by the property, to help divide up work, and allow for more things to get done. There was a lot to do for one person, and it would've been better if I had more help and guidance.

Advice

Groundskeeping is hard work, so know what you're getting yourself into. I also recommend only going for this job if you have previous groundskeeping experience since there wasn't anyone to guide me on the specific details of the work.

Property Management Intern

June - August 2020 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

I had a great all around experience at Monarch. They let you work in many different fields within property management to get a better understanding of the company and the field.

What I wish was different

I wish they let you choose which side of the field you wanted to spend more time in. For example, less time in maintenance and more time in asset management.

Advice

If you’re at all thinking about property management, this is the one for you!

Accounting Intern

May 2019 • Franktown, CO

What I liked

I really enjoyed the different work I was doing. I learned a lot about property management and the structure of an investment group.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have found a place closer to Franktown living at my house in Denver made for a very long commute.

Advice

Always ask questions and be eager to learn. Your bosses and co-workers will really notice and will be very impressed and will be more willing to hire you after your internship.
