I liked helping the patients in giving them appointment reminders, and assisting them in notifying someone to cancel and reschedule their appointments.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have learned how to cancel and reschedule appointments.
Advice
The advice I would give is to try to make the best of every internship you do even if you do not get to do everything you were hoping you would do. Keep an open mind and network with those you come in contact with, and ask a lot of questions.

What I liked
What I wish was different
That I had taken pictures of the kind of clothes I wore to work so that I could show other young professionals some ideas on how to dress. I know it can be hard for us young people because we are so used to wearing jeans or we don't have any idea what these dress codes mean. I just wanted to help out.

What I liked
I like that I was able to help people which is very important to me. As a nursing student, I wanted to gain as much experience as I possibly can and I am very grateful for the experience I had at the Montefiore Medical Centre.
What I wish was different
I liked everything there’s not much I’d change. I got watch and learn a lot which I’m very grateful for. I wish there was more to do as a volunteer/SYEP employee. I loved everything I wouldn’t change anything except for more duties to keep volunteers busy on the floor.
Advice
Learn,learn,learn. As mentioned before, I’m a nursing student so I was eager to watch and learn as much as I was allowed to. Be humble, ask questions, learn (can’t stress that enough), help whichever way you can. I was doing everything from answering phone calls to helping making beds, talking to patients and giving them ice, etc. make it fun for you.
