What I liked

I was able to make connections with other undergraduate students majoring in mathematics or computer science who also wanted to attend graduate school in the future.

What I wish was different

Due to the pandemic, my research experience was solely online. Although the experience was rewarding in many ways and I am ultimately grateful, I wish I could have had the experience of working on mathematical research continually in-person.

Advice

I would recommend that anyone who has the opportunity to participate in a Research Experience for Undergraduates to do so, as it was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever been a part of.

I could’ve learned more about troubleshooting and customer service to be able to better help students and faculty members

Advice

Although I worked at IT, I didn’t need to be someone who absolutely loved and knew everything about technology; I learned skills as I moved along and my supervisors helped me a lot with some of the more specific things

What I liked

I enjoyed how despite it being a job, it felt as if I was working from home. The environment at work was very friendly yet maintained professionalism as did my bosses. I was able to learn a lot of new things and equip my self with new skills while at the same time I got to do my work also.

What I wish was different

I wish had known about the job earlier so I could have done more at the job and worked for longer. Also I wish I had been prepared for how busy it would get once school started.
