The introduction to the food industry. It was interesting to see the mass networking between production, processing, and marketing that food goes through from farm to table.
The food industry is extremely regulated and high expectations of quality are ensured on every step of the way to make sure the consumer receives a safe product.
What I wish was different
I wish that there was a bit more direction. Much of the time I was on my own, which was great opportunity to explore my own abilities, but it may have been nice to have some more long term tasks given to me to work on it my time.

This internship required high focus, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your time well.

What I liked
I loved the work environment. Everyone who works for MSU Extension is so positive, encouraging, and open. MSU Extension gave me the opportunity to dive into multiple aspects of research and evaluation and allowed me to explore the parts of those that I was most interested in.
