I have loved the exposure to Capitol Hill meetings and presentations on early childhood education. I have also been able to broaden my network and connect with additional professionals.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have more in-person interactions with my externship professional. However, being virtual has allowed me the opportunity to attend conferences that otherwise would not have been possible.
Advice
An important piece of advice is to maintain a broad scope when it comes to searching for internships. Not every internship will align with your future career, but each experience will teach you new skills and broaden your future possibilities.
