What I liked

I loved the resources available to learn about footwear design more, along with the talented faculty who helped answer any questions I had. I also liked working with my team and learning more about the roles behind designing a product.

What I wish was different

As someone with not much footwear design experience, I wish there had been more time to learn the terminology and learn the basics of shoe design.

Advice

Keep an open mind, try your best, and do all you can to learn as much as you can from the experience!

Real Estate Intern

What I liked

I got to understand many aspects of commercial real estate, worked very closely with my managing director who also acted as a mentor and helped me navigate the next step in my career path. Also got to meet and work with Jim Davis, Middlebury alumn and Chairman and Founder of New Balance.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was not the only intern. I was the youngest member of the team by quite a few years and it was often hard to connect with other members of the firm.

Advice

I was very fortunate that my Middlebury background was something that Jim Davis valued and really helped me land my job. Never be afraid to use the Middlebury alumni network! It's huge!
