The New York College of Podiatric Medicine, the first college of podiatric medicine, has a proven track-record of over one-hundred years of quality training resulting in the graduation of 25% of all active podiatric physicians. Continuously excellent board pass rates and residency placement at some of the top programs nationwide has earned recognition for both our institution and graduates.
A deep commitment to student excellence is fostered through stimulating classroom instruction and clinical training through our affiliated clinics and hospitals. Students have access to thousands of patients during their clinical third year rotations at neighboring affiliated hospitals, including our on-site teaching clinic, The Foot Center of New York (FCNY), and a vascular rotation at Mount Sinai Hospital. NYCPM has established over 170 hospital affiliates nationally for 4th-year month-long externships and clerkships, which may include hospitals abroad in countries such as Israel, India, Poland, Spain, Ireland, and Australia. This approach has led students to follow in the footsteps of dedicated health care professionals who have set the standard for excellence in podiatric medicine.
Students round-out their learning through active club and organization participation dedicated to community service and practical application of medical knowledge through real-world settings. Our students foster their curiosity through research offered to them via our vibrant clinic patient population and by leading medical schools and hospitals in New York City. NYCPM was the first college to establish a student run scholarly publication of research papers called, the Podiatric Medical Review.
NYCPM students have the option of pursuing a DPM/MPH Dual-Degree in conjunction with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. There are multiple tracks a dual degree candidate can pursue in Public Health including Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, Occupational & Environmental Medicine, Global Health Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Health Care Management.
