I wish I had worked more hours, which I could not because I was busy with school as well.
Advice
Put yourself in as many different departments and units as possible to gain the exposure and contacts with current law enforcement members.

I loved having the opportunity to interact directly with the press and various media personnel. I also learned a lot about video editing and the process of getting information from the police department out to the media and news stations.
