Nifco America Corp.

R&D Engineering Intern

May - September 2019 • Canal Winchester, OH

What I liked

Very good internship. Learned many things about manufacturing and design processes. Was given a full length project on idea formed by me. Very good internship.

What I wish was different

There were times where I felt like I should have had more guidance, but this could have been a result of my lack of seeking for help.

Advice

Always be ready to give everything you have.

Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Shelbyville, KY

What I liked

I liked the department I was in and the way I was treated as an intern. I was given the opportunity to do the same work as any of their engineers, and all the engineers in my department were very kind and willing to help me with anything I didn't know.

What I wish was different

I wish Nifco were closer to Lexington, or that I had lived closer to Shelbyville for the summer. The 1-hour commute was tedious at times.

Advice

Always always ask if you don't know something. It shows that you admit when you don't know something, and the company and the engineers you're working with would rather you know what you're doing than that you act like you don't because of embarrassment.
