It was my first finance-related internship so it was really a good opportunity to practice my knowledge in a real scenario. Also, I got good practice and growth in my confidence and communication skills as an international student in a new environment. The people and culture are inclusive and I felt passionate to work every day.
What I wish was different
I would say that if the office can be larger and more interaction with senior analysts and associates will be better. But you really need to find and catch any opportunities to learn and network with people.
Advice
Finding an internship is always hard, so don't be depressed or even give up. Keep networking and seeking any opportunity you may notice. And prepare well for your internship application process, having good storytelling skills, knowing yourself, and understanding the company's culture and interviewer's background. I didn't really like the business intelligence part of my internship as I was more looking towards qualitative strategy analysis. Read the job description carefully when you apply!
