Come into the internship with an open mind ready to learn and unlearn. Make sure to stay present and participate!

What I liked
I really love how this program supports their interns in terms of personal and professional development. As a cohort, we meet weekly to talk about our internship and AAPI issues and get to know one another. It was very wonderful to get to know other interns and what they have done in their life. I get to network but also make friends and enjoy what DC has to offer.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have known my task at the internship placement earlier because I did not know what my job would be. I also wish that the program could have been longer, so that the cohort can bond more.
Advice
Take advantage of the resource and don't be afraid to ask for help. Go to all the mixer and networking events, if you don't end up making great connections, at least you can get to experience and learn.
