The New York State Assembly is the lower house of the New York State Legislature. It is composed of 150 members representing an equal number of districts.
The District Office has been running the Internship Program every semester since January 2017, improving and making a more comprehensive learning experience each new semester. Although all interns get a deep dive into legislation, constituent affairs, community outreach, event planning, and organizational leadership, in general the Spring Semester tends to focus on Legislation & Constituent Affairs, the Summer tends to focus on Community Outreach & Event Planning, while the Fall tends to highlight Constituent Affairs & Strategic Planning.
