I liked having the on-hands experience with the work I did throughout my time at the Lieutenant Governor's Office. In particular, I liked sitting during the senate session on the dais right next to the Lieutenant herself. This allowed me to observe directly the dynamic environment the Senate is, while hearing intriguing arguments of each member while bills were brought to the table.
What I wish was different
I wish that I chose an internship that had a more organized structure in terms of what they wanted out of their internship program.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to come prepared ready to work on things that help the organizational structure of the Lieutenant Governor's Office improve and be more efficient overall.

Internship
June - August 2022 • Dover, DE
What I liked
I loved the personalization between the Lieutenant Governor and myself. She really took time to get to know me and gave me specialized tasks that I was interested in.
What I wish was different
I wish that the internship had been more hands on from the beginning and was more consistent throughout the whole time.
Advice
I loved working for this office and would recommend just being patient. It is a government office and not much worked very fast, especially for interns.
