The primary responsibility of Congresswoman Schakowsky's district office staff is to advocate for the residents of the district, and to provide information and assistance with federal grants and issues with federal agencies. Rep Schakowsky's district offices assist with but not limited to immigration, Social Security, Medicare, Veterans benefits, postal issues, and other federal matters.

Schakowsky's district office serves the diverse constituents of the 9th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of the following Chicago neighborhoods, Uptown, Edgewater, Rogers Park, West Ridge, Edison Park, and all or parts of the following suburbs, Evanston, Skokie, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Niles, Park Ridge, Golf, Des Plaines, Glenview, Wilmette, Arlington Heights, Kenilworth, Mount Prospect, Northbrook/Techny, Northfield, Prospect Heights, and Winnetka.
