Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar

About Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar

An internship with the Senator’s office is a terrific chance for students to gain first-hand experience with both the legislative process and constituent services in the United States Senate.

Minneapolis interns assist the office in a variety of administrative capacities. Interns support constituent services and outreach staff by conducting casework-related tasks, including sending inquiries to federal government agencies, contacting constituents for more information, and drafting letters for events and constituents. They also assist the outreach and communications staff with research, event planning, meeting preparation, and processing and organizing event invitations.

Reviews

Senate Intern

May 2021 - July 2021 Washington, DC
“I loved that we were paired with a legislative aid, so we got to help with committee prep binders and to better understand how policy makes its way through the office. We also got to do lunches with different office members, and it was really informative to learn about their paths to the hill. ”

Congressional Intern

May 2018 - August 2018 Minneapolis, MN
“I gained an understanding of working in constituent services and working in federal government. ”
