I really loved the open and laid-back learning environment throughout the summer. I was able to meet professionals in the arts administration field along with participating in summer programming.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had a long-term project throughout the summer, I was able to help on extremely short-term administrative tasks and projects, but I wish that there was a larger longer term project.
Advice
Network! Talk to people! My personal and professional conversations that I had over the summer with students, teaching artists, and administrative professionals really shaped my experience and understanding of the school and what it was like to work at a non-profit. Their words of wisdom and advice truly influenced my own understanding of what career I want to pursue in the future.
