I liked learning about how professional opera companies work and what their expectations of singers are. I appreciated the experience of giving 30 performances in 2 months, especially because many performances required travel and community engagement.
What I wish was different
I wish the accommodations had been better; the living quarters were not comfortable or private. I also wish there were more breathing room in the schedule. It was hard to get good rest.
Advice
Arrive prepared and ready to work hard; an eager attitude will serve Studio Artists well. Spend some time alone every day to maintain good spirits and mental health.
