In June, I began working alongside my co-workers to open a Santa Clara studio. I gained first-hand experience of what it is like to open a franchise and to sign members up in a pre-sales stage.
What I wish was different
The construction was supposed to be complete in September. I was planning on working in an open studio throughout the school year. Since we're still under construction, my position is less exciting than it was at first and business has slowed down a lot.
Advice
When you are thinking about a position, consider where it will take you long term. One of the reasons I chose this opportunity was because it paralleled many of my personal interests; I wish I had considered how this would shape my career path moving forward.
