PA Media Group

Sales & Marketing Intern

June - August 2019 • Mechanicsburg, PA

What I liked

Throughout my summer with the PA Media Group the entire team made sure to have me participating in sales calls and gaining full experience within the company. They encouraged my input within every project and structured my internship in a way that supported interpersonal growth alongside their company goals. I had a blast being part of their team this summer and I gained copious amounts of knowledge alongside some wonderful friends.

What I liked

I would say like is an understatement. I loved working there this summer & I feel like I had the chance to do a lot of cool things that many young college students don't get to experience. Probably my highest accolade while working there would be getting the chance to interview Super Bowl 52 QB Nick Foles when he came to Harrisburg for a book signing. They really were open to letting me have free range for creativity which was an awesome experience.

What I wish was different

To be completely honest, not much really needed to be different. As I mentioned I enjoyed this very much & wish I had the opportunity to work with them full-time post graduation.

Advice

I think one piece of advice to add would be is just to continue working hard & don't be afraid to be creative/take a chance. There were times where I did a project & felt afraid that they wouldn't approve but most of the times they loved what I ended up doing. For example, for their Philadelphia Eagles page they wanted me to create a hype video in order to get fans hype for the 2018 season. I decided to use this effect known as the parallax effect & add a voice over to make it sound cool. Had never done voice overs before but I thought I'll give it a try. The video ended up getting a viral alert with over 10K+ views & several likes and comments. This is just an example of taking chances & not being afraid to stretch your creative mind.
