Panagora Group

International Development and Global Health Intern

July 2018 • Silver Spring, MD

What I liked

I loved the small owned women business aspect, with a small office, everyone knew everyone and it was a close knit group. I also learned a lot while I was there, especially the important role the company plays in carrying out USAID projects.

What I wish was different

I don't have any negatives about my experience. If anything I wish it could have been longer. Interns usually have a three month part time period, but I interned for six weeks five days a week for the experience.

Advice

Expect to learn... A LOT. The first week was spent understanding USAID lingo which was a vital component of contributing to proposals, understanding proposal requests, and the lingo of meetings. Many of the abbreviations will take you far in understanding development work.
