Pizza Delivery Driver

April - July 2020 • Uhrichsville, OH

What I liked

I liked the collaboration/teamwork I experienced here. In general, anybody positioned at a particular station (e.g. driver, oven tender, make line, etc.) would help out the other stations on their breaks to keep things moving swiftly and efficiently, without adding too much strain to any one station.

What I wish was different

I wish the pay rate was higher. This is an entry level job, yes, but it is a very fast paced and strenuous work environment. I think a higher pay rate would have encouraged me to stay with the company.

Advice

My advice is this: learn how to work under pressure. Food service requires learning new skills quickly, maintaining accuracy in a fast paced environment, and possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to keep up with a variety of tasks at one time, meanwhile anticipating any potential future needs (e.g. keeping the make line stocked, keeping the ovens from getting too full, keeping track of inventory, etc.).

Crew member

May - July 2020 • Acworth, GA

What I liked

It was fairly flexible in terms of schedule.

What I wish was different

Better pay, the work is really not worth 7.25 when drivers typically do less and earn more. It was also not that great a work experience as it is incredibly face paced with no breaks and long hours.

Advice

Become a driver if you can or be incredibly firm with your schedule. Be ready to get yelled at by costumers and be ready to be quick making pizzas.
