Par Pharmaceutical

Engineering Co-Op

July 2020 • Rochester, MI

What I liked

I am having a great experience at PAR Pharmaceutical. They are allowing me to work flexible hours while finishing my Bioengineering degree at Oakland University. I have learned so much during my time as an Engineering Co-Op and am doing very fulfilling work such as assisting the manufacturing of generic medications along with the COVID-19 Vaccine.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have started working for PAR Pharmeceutical earlier. I had a different internship lined up with LEAR Automotive that I had earned by placing first place in an innovation competition. This was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic.

Advice

Don’t stop working to achieve your goals. I went through countless amounts of applications after my internship was cancelled. Thanks to handshake, my career center at Oakland University, and my own perseverance I was able to achieve my current role.

Supply Chain Finance Intern

June - August 2018 • Chestnut Ridge, NY

What I liked

Working at Par Pharmaceutical, I loved the feeling of being a part of a team. Everyone in the department, as well as the company, was always ready to assist me in any way they could. I was never afraid to ask any questions either! I was able to learn new tools on Microsoft Excel as well as internalize other programs such as Sharepoint and JD Edwards.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship was longer! The 10 week program was great, but I definitely wish I got a chance to stay at the company until school started.

Advice

Learn everything you can and definitely ask questions. Everyone is typically willing to help out interns in learning the processes associated with the job!
