The tax departments was really nice and encouraging. They uphold an open-door-policy sort of climate. If you work hard and produce good work consistently, you can get pretty comfortable as a part of a team.
What I wish was different
The firm doesn't really train new people, even though they recruit college students often. Not sure if its an administrative constraint or just unwillingness to do so.
Advice
Take full advantage of your time there and learn as much as you can. If you don't get something, or can't seem to keep up, there will be someone to provide guidance as needed!

Staff Accountant
September 2020 - April 2021 • Waco, TX
What I liked
They are extremely nice and encouraging . You will receive a ton of experience and get to work in very different circumstances than in class
What I wish was different
I wish I had asked more questions and got more experience in talking to clients. I also wish that I had spent more time working from the office instead of working from home.
Advice
Don’t be afraid to ask a question regardless of the response you get back from your superior. I would also say don’t do something that you don’t feel comfortable doing.

Advice
I would advise incoming interns to ask many questions and be open-minded. It can be overwhelming at times to adapt to the work.
