Penn Entertainment

Intern

May - August 2022 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

Rotations allowed me to get experience in several departments and get a broad overview of the gaming industry. I had the opportunity to speak directly with several executives within the company and gain insights from all levels of management.

What I wish was different

Because this internship only allows students 21 and over, the rotations should have been much more specific to our degree area. The rotational schedule of the internship would have been perfect for a freshman or sophomore level internship, but juniors and seniors who have already declared their major may know what kind of work they have to do for their career.

Advice

Do some research on the gaming industry and think hard about whether you are the kind of person who can thrive in this environment. The casino industry is not for everyone, as your managers will tell you. This was not the industry for me, personally. Penn Entertainment offers great career options for those who are willing to work within this industry.
