What I wish was different

I wish the facility would have been more well-kept. One of my friends fell through the dock and severed a tendon in his leg because the dock was unsafe. In various parts of the dock, there was severe rotting and it caused me to worry about my own safety. Also, the water in the bathrooms was very brown.

Advice

Don't go if you are weak-minded. It takes a tough individual to work this job, a sixteen-hour shift is no joke. It's important to make sure that you take care of yourself, and bring lots of warm clothes and medication for when you get sick, ADVIL, Halls, allergy medication is all helpful.

What I liked

I love it. I learned great management skills. Learned a broad source of skills: forklift operating, machine maintenance, people skills, time and resource management, fish processing skills, and knowledge.

What I wish was different

I don't wish anything to be different. All my experiences taught me different things

Advice

Be aware of the environment you will be going into. It can be difficult and working with people is always unpredictable. You have to learn to think and act fast.

What I liked

The employers took care of their employees. I worked 17 hour days 7 days a week and many services were provided to me to keep me going. They fly you for free, house you for free and feed you for free. All you do is work. It’s hard work but the environment is amazing.

What I wish was different

Nothing. The managers have the production plant running smoothly to enforce safe working conditions and happy employees.

Advice

If you want to work here you have to be willing to lose sleep for a short period of time. Hours are long but the pay is great. You have to remember that majority of your pay is in overtime.
