Philanthropy in Motion

Programs Assistant

June - August 2019 • Beijing, People's Republic of China

What I liked

The most valuable part of the experience is that I get to interact with many social enterprises in China, and better understand the landscape of this industry in China. For example, I developed a better idea of what difficulties are faced by these organizations, what aspects of society they are trying to improve, and what their initiatives are.

What I wish was different

The most challenging part was that I was the only intern who worked on Model Foundation, so I had a lot of tasks every day. Sometimes I could not finish the tasks before the deadline, so I could only try to finish the most urgent ones first. Sometimes I need to stay a little longer after work. It is a bit hard for me to maintain a work-life balance.

Advice

It is important to adjust your schedule to meet the deadlines. You should do the most urgent work first and do not stress out.
