In 1968, a 22 year old Gary Schnurr roared across the Kansas plain in his Chevy dump truck, answering a desperate need in neighboring Colorado.
Contractors and hardscape retailers were seeking a service-oriented supplier of rock, sand and flagstone. Gary aggressively met that need, not just by sourcing high- quality products but rather delivering what the retailers really wanted; excellent customer service.
From there, Gary built one of the largest retail landscape suppliers in the west, servicing Colorado and Arizona from 45 locations as Pioneer Sand Company.
