coworkers, flexible management, consistent schedule and tasks, face-to-face interaction
What I wish was different
difficult members allowed to continuously return despite breaking rules (men harassing me and other women employees, people yelling and getting aggressive, etc.) Not the establishment's fault necessarily but I wish that wasn't an element everywhere.
Advice
Just be open to talking to people, lean on your coworkers, and make sure you find ways to enjoy it. I personally hated vacuuming the floor but I loved to stock the cooler, talk to guests, and mop the sides of the treadmills. It's the little things you find joy and peace in that make a repetitive and easy job like that more fun and worthwhile. If you give it your energy, you can actually gain a lot. Funnily enough, my old coworkers *just* called me today (I haven't seen them since August) to check in and see how I was doing, and next time I'm home I'll get to hang out with them. I met a lot of really cool people and although my life career goals weren't necessarily to stay at PF, I liked it a lot while I was there and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
