I loved how I was able to engage with the Charlottesville community outside of UVA and understand how an organization that is funded by donations and grants runs and what their limitations may be. I was able to learn about different education curriculums and how they may positively benefit different communities.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been paid or UVA grants to give to unpaid internships were more accessible and gave more options for students in need of financial assistance.
Advice
Going outside of your comfort level is difficult, but it's super rewarding!
